Discover Morroco!

 After block 5, ESN Maastricht will take you on the trip of a life-time. ESN will discover Morroco. We will offer you an all-in trip, where we take you to all the places you need to see in this beautiful North-African country; for only 350,- euro! The trip will take place... from the 17th until the 24th of June. Flights and Visa are not included, but we will fly from Eindhoven with Ryanair (a low-cost airline). We will try to book all together immediately after the arrivalweek in order to get the lowest possible price. You have to make a down-payment of 100,-. The rest can be paid in installments later.  

Please note: there are only 46 spots available and the trip is open to everybody. If you want to go on this epic trip, please register at the ESN-office as soon as possible. Sign-up starts on the 30th of January. More information regarding the sign-up procedure can be found at http://www.facebook.com/events/365319693483120/  Below you can find a description of the some of the activities we are going do while we are there.

Day 1: Arrival in MARRAKECH
Arrival in Marrakech airport. Transfer to the hotel by shuttle. Diner and welcoming drink.

Day 2: MARRAKECH
After breakfast we will visit one of the most famous monuments and places of Marrakech: 
• The Koutoubia or "Mosque of the Booksellers” built in the 12th century 
• Saadian tombs, magnificent mausoleums of the 16th century with the audience of twelve columns, head of Artwork of the Hispano-Moorish art, 
• The Bahia Palace, a real maze of corridors and staircases built in the last century with beautiful gardens, 
• The Menara gardens, planted with olive trees and with a large lake irrigation. 
We will have lunch in the medina. After lunch:
• Tour of the ramparts, built in the 12thcentury, 
• The famous place Djemaa El Fna, the heart of the medina. All day there prevails a huge market with amazing characters: storytellers, acrobats, snake charmers ... From there you will have access to the souks, and various handcrafts. 
Followed by dinner and sleeping at the hotel.

Day 3: MARRAKECH / OUARZAZATE 
Breakfast and departure to Ouarzazate, through the High Atlas Mountains, specifically the neck of Tizin'Tichka (2260m). We will pass near villages and fortresses. Stop at the Kasbah Ait BenHaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage, where many famous movies took place (eg: gladiator). Of course you have free time to wander around.
Lunch and continuation to Ouarzazate. Visit the city and the Kasbah of Taourirt. 
Dinner and night at the hotel.

Day 4 : OUARZAZATE / ZAGORA 
Breakfast. Departure to Zagora along the Draa Valley, an oasis of almost 200 km. We will see many ksour; fortified villages. 
Arrival in Zagora, the last big town before the desert. 
Lunch at the restaurant and excursion to Tamegroute, an old religious center with its library that contains valuable illuminated manuscripts of the Koran and ancient works of history and medicine. We can also walk in the neighborhood of pottery (pottery green). 
Excursion to the dunes Tinfou. Back toZagora. Start the camel ride toward a bivouac. 
Dinner around a bonefire and overnight in tents under the stars.

Day 5: ZAGORA / MARRAKECH
Those who will rise up early will enjoy the sunrise over the sand dunes, followed by breakfast and return on camels to Zagora. Visit of an old cave where we can admire the beauty of the Berber art, and old objects belonging to nomads.
Then back to Ouarzazate where lunch is provided, followed by the trip back. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 6: MARRAKECH / High ATLAS 
Day in Lalla Takerkoust Lake. People will enjoy the lake and many other activities; just a day to relax Moroccan style.
Dinner and clubbing night till the morning.

Day 7: MARRAKECH (free day) 
Breakfast, free morning after the big night :D . After lunch, people will be offered to relax in a Hammam in the medina and enjoy a Moroccan ritual spa with black soap and massage. 
People will enjoy the hotel swimming pool or go shopping for their last day.

In the evening, Moroccan dinner in an old palace in the medina with folklore and belly dancing to close the trip.

Day 8: Marrakech 
After breakfast, transfer to the airport. Assistance with the registration formalities.

Full price per person: 350 euros

• Housing in 3*/4* hotels: Accommodation in double room, bathroom or shower, wc 
• Overnight in tents in Zagora 
• All the meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast on the last day (meals with no pork)
• Transportation in air-conditioned touring bus 
• Entrance to the clubbing night 
• Camel ride 
• Transportation in air-conditioned touring bus 
• Day High Atlas in 4x4 to Lalla Takerkoust Lake. 
• Entries on the sites and monuments listed in the program 
• A national English speaking guide throughout the circuit
• Hotel taxes 
• Luggage handling in hotels 
• Tipping in hotels and restaurants 
• Assistance and insurance

NOT INCLUDED: 
• Flight ticket & VISA: not all countries need a VISA. For a list check out  http://embassy-finder.com/morocco_visa 
• Activities in Lalla Takerkoust Lake (quad and jet ski…), but we will try to arrange a group discount.

• Extra spendings not specified in the program.
